Ok, guys. Please tell me it’s not just me!! Let’s talk about Pinterest today. Yes, you read that correctly. Pinterest. I love it!! Does everyone have a Pinterest account? Do you have any idea how long it took me to set up my own account?! Why in the world did I wait so long??!!
Ok. So here is how it all went down. I kept hearing about all these amazing projects on this awesome site called Pinterest. I had no idea what that was at first. A close friend of mine said it was the best thing to hit the planet and proceeded to tell me all about it. I loved how it sounded, but was still a little leery about starting an account. I didn’t want to waste all my time on the computer and wonder what happened to my day when I was done. So, for that reason alone, I decided against having an account.
That was all fine and dandy until I started this blog about a year ago. I figured the more places I posted the blog link, the better. I could reach more people if I went to social media, right? Well, that is definitely true, so I decided I would try a couple new social media platforms. I already have a personal Facebook account, so I decided to keep that personal and not post anything on Facebook. I didn’t want to try too many new things at once, so I opted for Twitter and Pinterest.
Twitter has been fine. I’ve really only posted the links on there and not much else. I should probably figure out some more things about Twitter at some point, but I haven’t really had the desire to figure it out. I will just keep posting the links and go from there.
But, Pinterest. Oh, Pinterest. Where have you been all my life?! I am obsessed. I have so many amazing boards on there! I could literally spend an entire day just looking through everything and pinning things to my boards. I can’t get over how creative some people are! I am definitely not at all creative, so I think that is part of what draws me to looking at everything.
And the recipes. Ah!!! I have a massive list of recipes I need to try. And I can’t wait to get going on them. But here’s my predicament. Do you think I ever think to check Pinterest when I’m making my weekly menu?? No. How stupid can one person be?? It seems like I’m constantly stuck in a rut with our meals for the week, but seem to think that I have no idea where to look for new inspiration. I apparently need to get my head out of the dirt and use it occasionally!
So, this is the part where I hope I’m not alone. How many of you have Pinterest accounts, but you never try any of the things pinned on your boards? I really hope and think that I must have someone else with me out there! It’s not that I don’t intend to try the things I’ve pinned. I just forget that I have them!
I think I may need to make a project out of going through my boards and either writing out or printing out recipes to try. I’m pretty sure I need to start with my “Food” board. I have a ton of boards to look through, but I think the “Food” one will be the easiest to work my way through. The other boards are things that I want to try to build or something along those lines. Once we have our own place again, those will for sure be on the list to try. But, for now, food it is!
If you have a Pinterest account, check out my boards and tell me what you think I should try first. It’s also under “Motherofimperfection” so it should be easy for everyone to find.
I honestly only started a Pinterest account to post my blog links. But, that obviously has not turned out to be the only reason I have one now! I think my husband would rather I not have started an account! I keep showing him all these projects that I want to do, and ones that I want him to do. I don’t think he’s terribly impressed with my list for him!
So, for all you ladies out there who just enjoy spending time on Pinterest and putting things into your boards, you are not alone! And for all you men whose wife has an account and is making you a list, Good luck! Just don’t be mad at me. I didn’t create Pinterest! I have apparently just turned into an enabler! Sorry, I’m not sorry!
I hope you all enjoy your weekend and find some time in the evening to spend reading this blog post and then hopping on Pinterest for some good, quality dreaming time. Have a great weekend, everyone!!
